Previously on "Bulls, Steers and B.S." an argument over the ownership of a yearling steer in the winter of 1890 leads to the murder of Big Bend rancher Harold Powe by Finus "Fine" Gilliland.
Harold Powe’s son, having just seen his father gunned down, rode hard for Alpine to notify noted former ranger and current Sheriff James B. Gillett of the incident. The lawman hastened to the scene with former sheriff John M. Rooney.
